Week 3: Music Reading

Week 3: Music Reading

Unit: Music Reading

Monday is a Digital Learning Day — your lesson is waiting on CTLS. The rest of the week you switch from making sound to reading and writing it. You will learn the staff, the treble and bass clefs, and how to find any note on a piano keyboard, then add note values, rests, and time signatures so you can read rhythm as well as pitch. From Wednesday on you work in MuseScore, where you transcribe Beethoven’s Ode to Joy and then a mystery melody you have to identify by ear after you have written it down.
